Biography: Büşra Karakaya Yalçın is a PhD candidate in Polymer Science and Technology at Middle East Technical University. Her research focuses on biodegradable and plant-based polymer materials. She works on the development and characterization of smart biopolymer films for food packaging applications. Her studies aim to improve the mechanical, barrier, and functional properties of sustainable packaging materials using natural polymers and bio-based additives. Her broader research interests include smart packaging technologies and advanced functional polymer materials.
